In 1987 Dr. Backof succeeded two previous generations of dentists, Drs. Stauffer and Poole, and continues to maintain the dental health of several of our patients who started with us in 1931! A true testament to preventative care! In January 2008 Dr. Melissa Della Croce-Grosh joined Dr. Backof as a 4th generation dentist in a 4th generation dental practice.

A true Buckeye, Dr. Bruce attended Ohio State for both his undergraduate and dental education. Graduating in 1990, he continued his education by completing a general practice residency program at Mount Sinai Hospital in Cleveland. A GPR is an intense one year program in which the participating dentist is trained in all specialties of dentistry in a hospital setting.
The Mount Sinai program placed a special emphasis on oral surgery procedures. Drs. Bruce and Lynn Herpy began practicing in Barberton in 1991 following the retirement of Dr. Edward Koosed. They were privileged to merge their practice with that of Dr. Ramon Peters in 1995. They are proud to care for their dental family and to contribute to this special community.
